Dennis Burke . . . e-mail address dp_burke@yahoo.com
Is looking for: B-17 Crew names
Of USAAF

I found your site today whilst looking for some information on a USAAF Boeing B-17 aircraft which ditched off the coast of County Kerry on the west cost of Ireland on 29th of May, 1944.
The information that I have at present is that it was 42-3279, with nose art 'Badger Beauty' and may have been operated by the 25th BG (or possibly the 802nd RG (P).

I have three crew names which may have been on board, a pilot named MJ Lorenz, a possible Westerlin and an RAF Met officer William Young.

The aircraft ditched and the crew were rescued by local from the village of Ballydavid. The aircraft was previously operated by the 100th BG.

Might you have any information about this aircraft, incident and crew?

All information is welcome.

many thanks for your time, Dennis
